A longtime Birkenstock fan, Katie Holmes seems to have invested in a pair of the brand's Boston clogs, which are quickly replacing Ugg slippers as the comfortable footwear of choice for fashionable girls. Everyone from Sienna Miller to Kristen Stewart to Kendall Jenner has been seen wearing these flat shoes. So it was inevitable that Katie Holmes would end up trading in her Arizona sandals for a warmer pair when the temperature dropped.

The actress wore hers with a comfy (and affordable) waffle-effect loungewear ensemble from Aerie in a greige hue, over a flannel shirt (another understated piece that's set to explode in 2023, thanks in large part to Kate Moss' appearance on Matthieu Blazy's spring show at Bottega Veneta).

Between the New York City setting and the fresh flowers sticking out of her cozy shearling-effect tote bag, Katie Holmes looked like she was on the set of a romantic comedy. If Harry Met Sally were the subject of a contemporary remake (hopefully never), Meg Ryan's character's cult fall wardrobe would certainly include a pair of Birkenstocks.
