This typical bag trend of the 2000s is making a comeback
The denim bag has not said its last word!

On the fashion side, brands like Blumarine and Versace proved it again this season: the craze around the 2000s comeback is far from running out of steam. This trend gained momentum when a year ago, Generation Z started wearing bootcut jeans and silk scarf tops on TikTok. Soon after, this style appeared on the runways of the most prominent houses. For Spring/Summer 2023, in addition to rhinestone glasses, trucker hats, and Juicy Couture peach skin tracksuits, another staple of the era is making a comeback in our wardrobe: the denim bag.

The denim bag, a safe bet
Just take a look at the latest Diesel collection to realize the impact of denim on the fashion world. The Italian house, now under the leadership of the excellent Glenn Martens, makes denim the flagship material of its collections. The designer manages to bring a new breath to the brand since the announcement of the appointment in 2020. For his spring-summer 2023 wardrobe, he revisits denim to transform it and halo it with details straight from the 2000s. Thus, a bag known from strips of denim superimposed and torn is sublimated with a chain logo.

There is also the Givenchy collection, for which Matthew Williams imagines an XL bag in denim, worn for the occasion by Bella Hadid, also dressed in a denim set.

Finally, houses and designers have understood the feeling of nostalgia that animates consumers. Because fashion is an eternal restart, any trend that has had its glory days (Generation Y obviously remembers the time when Paris Hilton and Britney Spears swore by denim handbag models) comes back at some point, and this bag trend is one of them. One thing is for sure, this one is likely to stay in its new position as a fashion must-have.
