Interview with Daniela Christiansson
by METRO Model Agency Zurich
Zurich, Switzerland, November 2015
When did you start modeling and how?
I was discovered when I was 14, on holidays in South of France with my parents by a model agency based in Paris. My father declined it because he thought I was too young and wanted me to finish my studies. In the meantime my mum put me in an agency in Switzerland in order to get a taste of it because I had never thought of it before. I did few modeling jobs during high school and left to my first trip in Milan at the age of 18, right after high school. However I didn’t continue because I didn’t like to be far away from home but the model agency of Milan kept calling me to come back, which I did with 19 years old. I never stopped it since then because I fell in love with this work lifestyle, the travelling and opportunities.
What are your hobbies?
I love to dance, go to events, be with me friends, work, do some sport, travel and discover new things. I love to relax as well at the spa or in a nice place. I love being at home with a coffee or a movie while spending time with my dearest friends. I’m a student and also have a business project, so my days are intensely scheduled with work, studies, private life and taking care of the work and myself.
So what was the first thing you learned as a model?
Taking care of my image and posing in front of a camera, removing my shyness!
Have you got used to the fact that you don’t really know what you’re going to be doing in the next three days?
Yes, you get used to it, but it helps to be surrounded by people having the same lifestyle has you. My friends are used to it as well, but other don’t get it so I have learned how to deal with this little issue,
Do you collect all the magazines you’re in?
Yes I do collect the magazines. My mother also orders me to do it.
When traveling what are the five items you must bring?
Skin care products. Skin color underwear. My professional book. A pair of high-heels. My cellphone and wallet for the documents and money.
What’s your favorite / most memorable direction a photographer has ever given to you?
I don’t have one, because it is important that you get a good working connection with the photographer, which is unique.
If you had to wear only one designer who would it be?
What advice would you pass along to those starting out in the modeling business?
Be yourself and keep both feet on the ground!
Thank you for your time, Daniela, and we hope to see you again soon in Zurich, Switzerland, at our modeling agency.
