In a relaxed and insightful interview with Metro Models, Austrian model Nadine Leopold opens up about her journey in the fashion world, what keeps her grounded creatively, and her thoughts on modeling as both a craft and a lifestyle. As someone who has worked with top model agency networks around the world, her story offers inspiration for aspiring talents and fans of the industry alike.
Interviewer: Nadine, we’re so happy to speak with you! To kick things off, tell us a bit about who you are and how you began your modeling career.
Nadine: Thank you! I’m Nadine Leopold, originally from Wolfsberg, Austria. I’ve been a professional model for over ten years now — I actually began when I was just 14 years old. Being discovered so young shaped my early experiences in the fashion industry, and I’m incredibly grateful for how far modeling has taken me.
Interviewer: Starting that early must have been both exciting and challenging. What have these years of modeling taught you?
Nadine: Absolutely — it’s taught me resilience, creativity, and the importance of continual growth. Being a model isn’t just about showing up; it’s about constantly reinventing yourself and staying motivated. Over the years, I’ve walked runways, collaborated with top professionals from different model agencies, and embraced every new opportunity as a chance to learn.
Interviewer: What has life been like for you lately — where are you based and how are you spending your time?
Nadine: Right now, I’m in London with my boyfriend and our two dogs. When travel slows down, I focus on my podcast I Choose Me, which has been a great creative outlet beyond just photoshoots and runway work.
Interviewer: That sounds wonderful! Have you found new ways to explore your creativity in modeling during this period?
Nadine: Definitely. I’ve been experimenting with at-home photoshoots and even got a circular light to play with lighting and new concepts. The modeling world is always evolving, and I try to evolve with it, even when I’m not on set.
Interviewer: Looking ahead, what’s something you’re excited about once the world opens up more?
Nadine: I can’t wait to visit Italy — I love the people, the culture, and especially the food. I’m also looking forward to diving back into exciting projects with creative teams and model agencies that inspire me.
Interviewer: Outside of work, what books or films have influenced you personally?
Nadine: I’d recommend The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, How to Win Friends and Influence People, and Zero to One. Some of my favorite films include When Harry Met Sally, The Gentlemen, and The Lord of the Rings. These all shape how I see growth, creativity, and storytelling — elements that are important in both life and modeling.
Interviewer: Finally, what advice would you give young aspiring models and those considering signing with a model agency?
Nadine: Your journey as a model is personal and unique. Whether you’re working with a local model agency or an international one, stay true to who you are. Be open to learning, keep your creativity alive, and treat every challenge as a chance to grow. Modeling can seem glamorous, but it takes dedication, persistence, and heart to build a lasting career.
