Montblanc in the world of Wes Anderson
When the precise elegance of Montblanc meets the imaginative world of Wes Anderson, a poetic and visually captivating story comes to life in a new campaign called Let’s Write – celebrating the beauty of writing in the digital age.

The relationship between the iconic Montblanc brand and film magician Wes Anderson continues to evolve in a fascinating new chapter. Following the visually stunning film for the 100th anniversary of the Meisterstück pen, Anderson returns to lend his distinctive aesthetic and inimitable visual language to the brand.

This time, he takes us to a snow-covered observatory and a train compartment where time passes differently – more slowly, more deeply, and to the sound of a pen gliding across paper.
At the heart of the story are three adventurers – Wes Anderson himself, Rupert Friend, and Michael Cera – who ponder the true meaning of writing. It is a journey, a gift, a process of self-discovery. As Anderson's character says in the film, "This ride demonstrates the literal, metaphorical, and poetic nature of the journey." And that's exactly what the entire campaign is.
Let's Write is not just about the film. It is a story in motion – captured in a series of elegant visuals by photographer Charlie Gray. Familiar faces such as Joey King, Daniel Brühl, Jing Boran, and Xin Zhilei lend the campaign international glamour. New star Esther McGregor brings a fresh touch of the future. Behind the camera was legendary Darius Khondji, costumes were designed by Oscar winner Milena Canonero, and set design was created by Adam Stockhausen and Stephan Gessler. The film was produced by Babelsberg Production Group, with Roman Coppola as co-director.

Less technology, more emotion
Behind every elegant shot lies a powerful message. In the campaign, Montblanc presents itself not only as a manufacturer of perfect pens and luxury accessories, but also as a storyteller. The products appear discreetly but meaningfully – the iconic Meisterstück pen, the special "Schreiberling" fountain pen designed by Anderson himself, the portable writing desk, and the new Writing Traveler Bag. Each object has its place and its story. According to creative director Marc Tomasetta, the goal is to reawaken people's desire to write: "Montblanc has an exceptional heritage and history, but it is Wes Anderson who gives it a new voice. We want people to pick up a pen and write what they feel."

Since its founding in 1906, Montblanc has stood for craftsmanship, innovation, and respect for tradition. Today, the brand is expanding its heritage across categories, from watches and leather goods to fragrances, eyewear, and digital accessories. And yet it remains true to its original mission: to inspire writing. The Let's Write campaign is all about that. About the moments when we stop, reflect, and discover ourselves through writing. And Montblanc is a sophisticated guide on this journey.
