Cara Delevingne on Beauty, Honesty & Life Beyond Modeling

Cara Delevingne first captured the world’s attention as a teen walking for some of the largest fashion houses, quickly establishing herself as a sought-after model. Over the years, she has graced countless campaigns, starred in Hollywood films, and been in high-profile relationships with famous women such as St. Vincent and Ashley Benson. Rumors have also linked her to artists like Halsey, keeping fans intrigued by her personal life. As a model who has navigated both runway and red carpet, Delevingne represents the diverse experiences of modern models.

Through her Instagram, she shares candid, often silly photos, demonstrating that she is comfortable in her own skin. But in a recent podcast interview, Delevingne opened up about insecurities she has long grappled with. On the British podcast Make it Reign, she revealed that she has considered adjustments to both her breasts and her nose.

“It is rooted in a deep uncertainty. I have said, ‘I want to get silicone. My tits are not the same as they were when I was young,’” Delevingne admitted.

She also came close to taking a nose job but realized the importance of honesty. “I had not managed to be honest about the fact that I wanted to fix something. And that is a problem, because young boys and girls deserve to know that there are some things that you can’t achieve naturally. That’s okay in itself, but it’s sad when people are not honest about it.”

Despite sounding like a critique of plastic surgery, she clarified her stance: “I’m looking forward to getting something fixed! But then I must be so honest about it that I echo it from the treetops. I do not want anyone to wonder whether I have done something or not. Isn’t it just easier to say, ‘Yes, you know what, I’ve fixed something’?”

Her honesty reflects the growing transparency among models today, particularly in how model agencies and individuals in the modeling world communicate about beauty standards. During the pandemic, industry experts noted a sharp increase in requests for fillers and cosmetic procedures, showing how trends in modeling influence wider perceptions of appearance.

Outside the modeling scene, Delevingne recently invited Architectural Digest into her Los Angeles home, revealing a space that is as playful as it is luxurious. Among its features are a “vagina tunnel,” a grand ballroom, a wall of hats for guests, and even a poker room inside a tent. “I love games, miming, beer pong, poker, drag games, everything that is fun. When my friends visit, the whole house almost becomes an obstacle course—an indoor and outdoor playground a la Alice in Wonderland,” she shared. Yet, despite its whimsy, the home remains a true sanctuary. “No, it still feels like a home,” she says. “I have a proper dining room, living room, and kitchen. But as you explore deeper, the greater the chance of finding treasures.”

Cara Delevingne’s journey highlights the complexity of being a model in today’s world—balancing public scrutiny, personal insecurities, and the pursuit of joy, all while navigating the expectations of modeling and the evolving role of model agencies. She is a reminder that authenticity, both on and off the runway, is just as essential as talent.
