First lady Jill Biden on the cover of Vogue
Is it better received than the edition with Kamala Harris?

When Vogue put the incoming US Vice President Kamala Harris on the cover of its February issue in January this year, the magazine received fierce criticism.

Harris was wearing her signature suit in one picture, and a rather casual outfit with Converse shoes in another.

Several people described the latter image as both "disrespectful" and "embarrassing". Finally, Vogue editor Anna Wintour had to talk about the image choices.

Now Vogue reveals that Jill Biden will be on the cover of the August issue.
The first lady of the United States is the wife of Joe Biden, who was inaugurated as President of the United States in January this year.

On the cover, the 70-year-old is wearing a floral dress by Oscar de la Renta and earrings from the luxury jewelry house Tiffanys. Both arch-American brands.

It seems like Vogue has learned from its mistakes, and this time has thought carefully about the setting for the pictures.

When Kamala Harris was on the cover of Vogue, the magazine not only received criticism for the vice president's outfit, but also for what many thought was a messy background in one picture.

In the August issue, however, Dr. Jill Biden poses at a railing outside what looks like the White House in Washington D.C.

The editors have chosen to show the hard-working professor she is with a lot of (and a bit clichéd) symbolism, including portraying her in front of her Mac with a pencil, wearing Ralph Lauren.
President Joe Biden also poses with the First Lady in several photos, in the garden outside the Oval Office of the White House. This time the professor is wearing Michael Kors. Another American brand.

Jill Biden talks to Vogue about her new role as America's first lady and her job as an English professor.

- When I became the first lady, there was so much I wanted to do. I always said “I will never waste this platform”. And now I have a bigger platform, she says to the magazine.
