Hailing from Durban, South Africa, Alexa Corlett was first scouted as a teenager, when her best friend started her modeling career alongside hers. Ever since, Alexa’s career has taken off and she has become a familiar face in the modeling world, having worked for top designers like Tom Ford and editorials like Vogue Brasil. Recently, she did a runway show at the Cannes Film Festival and shot a commercial for Moët.But Alexa is more than meets the eye: a graduate in Advertising and Marketing from Cape Town University, she thinks that one of the perks of modelling is undoubtedly the opportunity to travel regularly. To stay in shape, she practices yoga and boxing. While she has made a career by posing for the camera, she is also passionate about being on the other side. Her photography projects focus on the people she meets and places she visits. For a recent job opportunity she travelled to Zurich, for example.Inspired by all of the incredible sets she has worked on and admired, Alexa Cortlett has developed a passion for interior design. Her personal inspirations are eclectic, though she names Daria Werbowy as one of her idols (mostly for the “look and vibe”, as she admits). Otherwise, she is hugely inspired by Zimmermann, Celine and Isabel Marant for their timeless designs.
